why did i get so many thumbs down for this?

somebody was having trouble loading thier horse and so this is my answer: things needed: trailer hooked up to a truck rope halter w/longe lead rope gloves flag clicker fanny pack full of treats. bucket of grain time and patience lead him up to it (only as far as he will go) and wait. don’t make him go in,don’t ask him to do anything but stand there. and don’t let him look around or graze. keep him looking at the trailer. and DO NOT let him back up. have someone behind him,but out of kicking range and if he backs up have them wave a flag around. for the flag you can use a plastic bag tied onto a stick. don’t let him move back. when he decides to move foward even one tiny step use a dog clicker and give him a treat. keep repeating this then eventually he will take a step in the trailer! when he goes quietly into the trailer reward him and let him know you are very proud of him! it might help to have some grain or other tasty meal inside the trailer so he gets a mega reward for going in. don’t get angry or mad just be patient. once he goes in end the lesson there. and keep doing this once a day until he loads immediatly and with no trouble. why did i get 3 thumbs down??? what is wrong with this idea? i saw a profetional trainer do this once so why do you think its bad? thanks how could that make the horse panic! its just supposed to encourage the horse to go forward, not scare the bejeebers out of him!

Answer:
Meh I quite often get thumbs down, I just ignore them. All methods I post I have tried out myself and found them to work – so it doesn’t really bother me whether anyone else likes the idea or not. I have noticed when a certain person is online, mentioning no names in particular but they are a top contributor, my posts always get thumbs down – so I think a few people do see a post you’ve posted a while ago and not agreed with, and then have it in for you as far as thumbs downs go. Just ignore them, post ideas – this is what yahoo answers is about, discussion and different methods, not everyone’s method will be the same, which is why it is important for everyone to post how they would handle a situation so the poster can go with plenty to think about and see what works for their horse.
